How to download your CAS (Consolidated Account Statement)
A Consolidated Account Statement (CAS) is a free PDF that lists your investments in one place. For mutual funds, request one from CAMS or KFintech, which covers funds from both. For shares in a demat account, use the eCAS that NSDL or CDSL emails you.
What is a CAS?
Mutual fund records are kept by two registrars, CAMS and KFintech, and demat holdings by two depositories, NSDL and CDSL. A CAS pulls your holdings from these into one statement, linked by your PAN. A detailed CAS also shows every purchase, which is how your gains can be worked out.
How do I get a CAS for my mutual funds?
- Go to the CAMS or KFintech investor website and find the consolidated account statement (CAS) request.
- Choose a detailed statement, and a period that starts from your first investment, so it includes what you paid.
- Enter the email address registered with your mutual funds.
- Choose a password for the PDF. You'll need it to open or import the file.
- The statement arrives by email, usually within minutes.
How do I get a CAS for shares in my demat account?
NSDL and CDSL email an eCAS to your registered address for months with activity, and at least periodically otherwise. It lists your shares, bonds, Sovereign Gold Bonds and mutual fund units held in demat. The PDF password is usually your PAN in capital letters.
How do I import my CAS into FinanceX?
- Log in and open Investment.
- Under Import from your CAS statement, choose the PDF and enter its password.
- Your funds, shares, bonds and NPS appear with their current value and, for a detailed CAS, your gains.
- Import a newer CAS any time. Values update in place, and funds you've sold are removed.
What does FinanceX keep from my CAS?
Only each holding's name, type, amount invested and value. The file and its password are used in memory and discarded. Your PAN, folio numbers and address are never kept, and a CAS is never sent to an AI service: it's read on our own server.
